Classic calligraphy that is rendered in a modern feel and format. For his last solo exhibition, “Khayyam’s Message of Joy”, Los Angeles, CA 2021, Pashaei created over 24 pieces over the stretch of two years capturing the essence of 11th-century poet and philosopher, Omar Khayyam and his famous collection of poems and quatrains, “Rubā‘iyyāt”.   Pashaei looks at life through Khayyam’s lens of poetic optimism. Pashaei’s art incorporates ribbons on net in the shape of Nastaliq calligraphy.  Pieces range in size from 48” x 60” to 140” x 120”.
