"Nika Shahkarami"

From September 2022 to now, artwork from Pashaei reflects his outlook and philosophy of beauty found in the individual object, which also represents the final message of the piece.  This concept is seen in the portraits he created out of thousands of silk roses.  Each rose itself carries its own beauty, and collectively, they construct the delicate portrait of young Iranian and Kurdish activists who lost their lives in pursuit of freedom in the “Woman, Life, Freedom” Revolution.

In solidarity with protesters in the diaspora, Pashaei decided to not display his pieces in a gallery but rather at protest rallies populated by over fifty thousand people for the people. He wanted these pieces, which honored the slain, to be an artistic part in the pursuit of freedom.
